I’ve been interested in motivation in the workplace for a long time. A lot of people (especially bosses) think that people are only interested in money, but this is totally untrue. People are motivated by lots of different things, money is just one of them. I for example was always much more interested in holidays than in money!
I just came across this very interesting video presentation by Dan Pink, a specialist in motivation (author of “Drive”) and if you’re at all interested in what motivates people in the workplace, go and check it out!
The surprising truth about what motivates us (Dan Pink)
Keep an eye out for very successful companies and ask yourself what their purpose is? You will see that they all have one!
I’ve also written a guide myself called “20 ways to motivate yourself and others”. Feel free to check it out and use the tips you like the most.
